Ken Charhut – Chief Executive Officer

Ken co-founded Compellon and is President and CEO of the company. A proven organizational leader with an impressive record of 8 successful exits, he brings over 25 years of experience in executive positions at leading technology and life sciences companies. Prior to Compellon, Ken was CEO of MindFrame, a startup that developed breakthrough products for treatment of ischemic stroke. MindFrame was successfully acquired by Covidien 18 months after he joined. Ken has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and a MBA from the University of Chicago. His outside passions include family, travel, skiing, and golf.

Mark Pollard- Chief Revenue Officer

Mark co-founded Compellon and is Chief Revenue Officer for the company. He brings over 25 years of proven experience in executive positions at leading software, SaaS, and hardware technology companies. Mark’s record of accomplishments includes 5 successful exits. Prior to Compellon, Mark was SVP of Sales and Marketing for SaaS-based learning company Altus 365 and has held executive sales and marketing roles at technology leaders Adaptec, Snap Appliance, Western Digital, and Seagate. Mark has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. His outside interests include family, basketball, skiing, and travel.

Dr. Nikolai Lyashenko (Liachenko), Ph.D. – Chief Scientist

Dr. Liachenko co-founded Compellon and is Chief Scientist of the company. A prominent expert on data science and information theory, Dr. Liachenko brings over 25 years of experience working on large complex data analysis for leading organizations such as General Electric, Hitachi, and the World Health Organization. He has held leadership positions at a number of companies and institutions including MEDecision, Metadata, University of St. Petersburg, The Russian Academy of Sciences, and George Mason University. Dr. Liachenko is 1 of only 12 lifetime members of the Academy of Engineering Innovations in St. Petersburg, Russia, and is a member of the IEEE and AAAI societies in the United States. Dr. Lianchenko received his Ph.D. and post-doctorate degrees in mathematics from the University of St. Petersburg, Russia with specialties in software and knowledge engineering, data analysis, algorithmic design, and the development of AI systems. He has written over 70 publications and holds 25 foreign patents and 2 pending US patents.

Marc Bir – Chief Technology Officer

Marc is Chief Technology Officer for the company. He brings over 18 years of proven success as a technical leader and software architect for mission-critical, high-volume transaction platforms. Prior to Compellon, Marc was Chief Architect for big data startup GenieDB, CTO of risk management startup Evantix, Director of Enterprise Architecture at market leader Citi Mortgage, and Chief Architect for the high-speed energy trading system at Enron. Marc has a BBA in Computer Science from Angelo State University. Marc’s passions include family, obstacle course races, gaming, craft beers, and “just coding”.

Harry Beck – Sr. Vice President, Alliances and Strategy
Harry Beck is Sr. Vice President, Alliances and Strategy for Compellon.  Harry brings over 14 years of building sales and alliance teams for SaaS technology providers, with extensive experience in negotiating, marketing and scaling complex OEM, technology and resale partnerships. Prior to Compellon, Harry was the Vice President for Business Development and Strategy at Mavenlink and Velocify where his teams created channel alliances that grew to encompass more than 40% of revenue.  Over his career Harry has managed more than 100 strategic alliances such as with Salesforce.com, Google, Marketo, Intuit, Zillow and LendingTree. Harry has an MBA from Cornell University and a Masters in International Business from Queens University in Kingston Ontario. His passions include family, advising start-ups, basketball and supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County and Inland Empire.

Annette Franz – Vice President, Client Experience

Annette Franz is Vice President, Client Experience at Compellon. She spearheads delivery of best practices that help Compellon clients incorporate Compellon20|20 into their CX strategies and ensure they achieve successful outcomes by making real changes in the areas that matter most to their customers. She has been recognized as one of “The 100 Most Influential Tech Women on Twitter” by Business Insider and by several other organizations as a top influencer in Customer Experience. She is an active CXPA member, as a CX Expert, CX Mentor, and a SoCal Local Networking Team Lead; she also serves as an executive officer on the Board of Directors. Prior to joining Compellon, Franz served as Director of Customer Outcomes for Fidelity Investments. She previously held instrumental roles in market research and customer experience leadership at Touchpoint Dashboard, Confirmit, Allegiance, Medallia, CustomerSat, BizRate, Data Development Corporation, Mattel and J.D. Power and Associates.

Patrick McDaniel – VP of Product Strategy and Technology

Patrick is VP of Product Strategy and Technology for the company. He brings over 20 years of experience and a history of successful deliveries of numerous revenue generating product strategies from concept to rollout. Prior to Compellon, Patrick was EVP of Product Strategy and Technology for InHouse, Inc., a SaaS platform in the financial services space, President of True North Technology Group, a consulting group focused on product delivery in the financial services space, and DIO/CTO for Option One Mortgage Corp. When not working with the fantastic team at Compellon, Patrick enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 sons, yacht racing, playing hockey,video games and spending time with friends drinking good wine.

Jesse Fountain – Director of Sales Engineering

Jesse M Fountain is Compellon’s Director of Sales Engineering. He leads pre-sales strategy and execution, applying his vast technical expertise to ensure clients get the most out of their data and Compellon20|20 solutions. He brings over 30 years of experience in technical pre-sales engineering and 12 years as a pre-sales executive with market-leading organizations including Soasta, Frost Data Capital and Microsoft. Jesse’s roots are in Advanced Data Analytics and Data Science, having double-majored in Quantitative Systems and Computer Information Systems at Arizona State University. Over his career he has helped establish eight technical startup organizations, including several successful exits as publicly-traded companies or acquisitions. The most-recent was in 2008 with the sale of DATAllegro (a data warehouse appliance technology firm) to Microsoft for $275M. Jesse remained at Microsoft for 7 years as a corporate executive and worldwide technical lead for the Analytics Platform Server (APS) organization, an important extension to the SQL Server product family to support very large data warehouses.
