Innovative Prescriptive Analytics Developer Compellon Closes $6.7 Million Series A Financing

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Compellon™, the developer of breakthrough prescriptive analytics software that quickly and easily delivers immediate actionable intelligence, today announced the closing of a $6.7 million Series A funding. Kairos Ventures committed $5 million and has invested its first tranche of $3 million of the Series A round. The funding will be used to expand Compellon’s sales capabilities and market penetration, while enabling the company to expedite the development of additional software solutions built around the unique Compellon20|20™ prescriptive analytics platform.

As the founder and managing partner of Kairos Ventures, Mr. Demetriades is a successful entrepreneur and business strategist. He previously founded SeeBeyond and grew it into the world’s largest self-funded integration software company, taking it public and spearheading its acquisition by Sun Microsystems. At SeeBeyond, he invented numerous software technologies, including composite applications, distributed integration technologies, and cloud-based integration and development products.

Carv Moore brings to Compellon extensive executive, sales and services leadership experience in technology spanning more than 30 years. He has served as a President for SeeBeyond, Novell, Cambridge Technology Partners and Excell Data Corporation, as Senior Vice President for Sun Microsystems’ Global Software business and BMC Software, and as an advisor to Think Big, a Teradata company. His experience also includes tenures at IBM and Digital Equipment Corporation. Mr. Moore is currently engaged in the private equity arena, and also serves on several advisory boards for companies in the enterprise software space, including RiverMeadow Software, Orbitera and Mobiquity.
